Release by the PSC of State of the NSW Public Sector Report

14 November 2012

The NSW Public Service Commission (PSC) has released its inaugural State of the NSW Public Sector Report.

The PSC describes its report as:

"This is the first major statement by the Public Service Commissioner on approaches to address the challenges facing the NSW public sector and his assessment of its performance. It focuses on three key drivers of public sector performance: values and ethics, capability and productivity. The report details both the identified issues and the Commissioner's response to those issues.

"The report contains original research to describe ethical issues, work experiences and labour force characteristics as they relate to the workforce that makes up the NSW public sector.

"These data are also used to establish baseline measures that will be used in future State of the NSW Public Sector reports to track changes in the sector over time. The findings were drawn from four major sources of research and data:

  1. People Matter Employee Survey
  2. Workforce Profile Data
  3. NSW Public Service Ethics Stocktake
  4. Senior Executive Services Executive Development Program
"Whilst analysed in the report, also available in more detail as companion documents are People Matter Employee Survey 2012 Main Findings and the Workforce Profile Report 2012.

"Thank you for your interest in the report. Should you have any queries or feedback they can be sent by email to ".
